Specification DevOps Engineer

Set the standards that guide AI-assisted delivery.

Learn to define how implementation should proceed, what conventions it must follow and what evidence is required before a release can move forward.

Included in every subscription, alongside all other released career tracks.

Turn delivery expectations into explicit controls.

This track is for professionals who shape engineering workflows, quality standards and release decisions. Develop the ability to describe a controlled delivery process and judge whether its evidence supports progression.

Define implementation expectations

Translate the agreed specification and technology choices into clear coding and delivery conventions.

Specify verification gates

Establish the functional, regression, security and review evidence that the work needs before it proceeds.

Evaluate review evidence

Consider independent review findings, unresolved issues and the limits of automated checks.

Govern release and recovery

Describe approval conditions, traceable release decisions and the expected response when a gate fails.

The pipeline is green. Is the release ready?

An AI implementation passes its automated tests, but a review identifies a missing permission check. You need to decide whether the release conditions are satisfied and what must happen before the work can progress.

Examine the specified gates, the evidence they require and the unresolved finding. Explain the appropriate correction, verification and review sequence before reconsidering the release.

Make the delivery decision defensible.

Practise defining delivery policies, implementation conventions, verification requirements, review gates and release-evidence decisions. Learn how these controls connect to the system’s requirements and chosen technology.

Work through structured scenarios, feedback and competence assessments. The track develops judgement about delivery controls and evidence; it does not promise to host or deploy your production infrastructure.

Your questions, answered.

Is this a certification for a particular cloud provider?

No. The focus is the specification and governance of AI-assisted delivery. Provider-specific knowledge may support that work, but the ASTAPIO credential represents competence in this responsibility.

Do I need to be an expert in every programming language?

The role requires enough understanding of the chosen technology to set appropriate expectations and recognise where specialist knowledge is needed. It does not assume mastery of every language.

Can human review remain part of the process?

Yes. Delivery requirements can include human review where the organisation requires it. Automation does not remove responsibility for the release decision.

Give automated delivery clear conditions to meet.

ASTAPIO provides AI-supported training within the disclosed service limits. No separate AI account or API key is required.
